Two held with narcotics in Budgam: Police

In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Budgam Police arrested two suspected peddlers and seized heroin-like contraband during a naka operation in the Soibugh area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Acting on specific inputs, a police team led by ASI Nazir Ahmad from Police Post Soibugh laid a checkpoint near Diyar Bridge. Two persons attempted to flee the spot after noticing the police but were quickly apprehended.
The suspects were identified as Mohd Imran Khan, son of Abdul Rahman Khan, and Waris Rashid Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar—both residents of Narkara, Budgam. A quantity of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession, officials said.
Police have registered FIR No. 108/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (8/21-29) at Police Station Budgam. A detailed investigation is in progress to trace the source and links of the recovered contraband.
Budgam Police has urged the public to remain vigilant and continue to support law enforcement by reporting drug-related activities in their neighbourhoods, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.
