U-17 Knockout Cricket Tournament concluded at Pulwama

U-17 Knockout Cricket Tournament organized by J&K Police under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), successfully concluded at Sports Stadium Tumlahal, Lassipora Litter. The grand finale witnessed enthusiastic participation from players, sports lovers, and locals, making it a memorable sporting event for the area. The concluding ceremony was graced by SSP Pulwama, Ms. P.D. Nitya-IPS, along with other senior officers of the district.

A total of 16 teams from across the Litter-belt competed in the knock-out format tournament. The final match was contested between Royal Challengers Petipora and Juniors Cricket Club Tumlahal, where Royal Challengers Petipora clinched the title. Trophies, medals and sports uniforms were presented to both the winner and the runner-up teams. Recognizing their commendable efforts, the winning team received a cash prize of ₹50,000, while the runner-up team was awarded ₹25,000. Individual brilliance was also recognized, with Abu Bakar clinching both the Man of the Match (₹10,000 & trophy) and Man of the Series (₹20,000 & trophy) awards
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Pulwama congratulated the winners and lauded the spirit of all participants. She reiterated that J&K Police is committed to channelizing the energy of youth in a positive direction by providing them with platforms in sports and cultural activities. She also urged the youth to stay away from drugs, violence, and other social evils, and instead utilize their potential for building a brighter future.
The initiative was widely appreciated by participants and locals alike, who hailed J&K Police’s efforts in promoting sportsmanship, positivity, and stronger police-public relations in the region.
