Pakistan continues to engage in false propaganda by organising Kashmir Solidarity Day on 05 February annually. The complete campaign is hollow and does not reflect people’s opinion on both sides of border. Upset and saddened by Pakistan’s propaganda against Kashmir and Kashmiris over past 75 years. People of Karnah came together to celebrate Unity Day highlighting the true voices and feeling of kashmiri’s. The unity marches were conducted both in Tangdhar and far flung area of Tithwal, Amrohi and Gabra. The day was chosen to counter Pakistan’s false narrative of celebrating Kashmir Solidarity Day despite exploiting Kashmiris for over seven decades. The people equivocally demanded Pakistan to leave forceful occupation of regions of Kashmir under its administration and free its citizens from torture and exploitation.
The biggest celebrations were observed at Tithwal where it seemed that wave of patriotism has landed. Enthusiastic participants conducted foot march on Tithwal-Simari road draped in national colours. Thereafter, people got together at historical Shan-e-Tithwal stadium where a cultural program was organised by Shining Karnah Musical Band and students of local Schools. During the cultural program, the patriotic performances were applauded by one and all.
After the cultural program, key personalities of Karnah expressed their views with general public. While Ex Sub Maj (Hony Capt) Mohd Iliyas Wani thanked people for coming together in such number and applauded development efforts of government. The deep anguish against forced occupation of certain regions of Kashmir by Pakistan was clearly visible amongst people of Karnah. Speaking on the occasion, Ex Sub Maj (Hony Capt) Abdul Sadiq applauded developmental work done by government and motivated the locals especially youth to come together country. Mr Tahir Qurash local teacher and social worker highlighted India growing status internationally as India has presidency of G20 Summit. Local youth leader Mr Bilal Chouhan also urged the youth to take active participation in nation building activities. This event ensured that patriotism is a part and parcel of Karnah valley and would continue to soar high.
