Virtual Gambling a Heinous Crime

We should always keep ourselves miles away from such evils and just be loyal to our religion as it is clear that richness doesn’t at last benefit us but our good deeds do

June 03, 2022 | Sajjad Rasool

As critters of this tech savvy world have emerged themselves the way this contemporary world demands them to be. Isn't it the absolute absurdity? More often than not people try to generate money via any mode irrespective of right or wrong. Since majority of people spend money on different virtual gambling apps especially dream 11 to try their fate. Some say that fate is a destiny, so winning a lottery would be an inevitable outcome. The AAP has got famous due to the arrival of Indian Premier League (IPL).I have been witnessing the roust of this AAP since last two months. Prior to any particular match users of the AAP spend their money on multiple contests (ranging between different money limits) in a view to transform themselves into billionaires in just a single night. An intriguing fact is that various notable social media platforms and news channels promote this heinous app by mentioning the name of the winner. They just portray it in such a way that people get allured to it. This AAP actually favours the trading of one's faith for just few crores. An interesting fact is that people just praise and insists their children to download the app and consider it as a legal method of earning money.

In Islam, gambling is not considered to be a simple game or frivolous pastime. The Quran often condemns gambling and alcohol together, recognizing both as a social disease which is addictive and destroys personal and family lives.
“They ask you [Muhammad] concerning wine and gambling. Say: ‘In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.’… Thus does Allah Make clear to you His Signs, in order that you may consider” (Quran 2:219).
Some scholars say that Islam permits a man to participate in healthy competitions, challenges and sports but it is prohibited for a Muslim to take part in any competition which involves betting, lottery or any other games of chance. Islam preaches its believers to be sharp and alert and just not fall in the trap of Shatan (Devil).Shatan always tries to deviate and grab believers in his trap by employing any type of method. Just consider this method of virtual gambling a novel method of trap which Shatan has executed. It is pretty simple for a wise person to understand. A matter of concern is that how we have intentionally ignored the command of Allah (swt).Exercising such ill acts depicts our love for this contemporary world as Shams Tabrizi said "When love for this world dominates over love of religion, it makes you blind and deaf". This saying of Shams sounds reliable too. Always remember a true believer is one who remains focussed and is firm in his position, he doesn't delude his creator no matter how unhealthy the situation would be.
To my surprise, i just found every boy and every acquaintance of mine being engaged with this misfortune. This AAP doesn't just degrade the morale of a person but also makes him greedy. At first everybody takes a stab to earn money but how it becomes an addiction is a matter of grave concern. This AAP actually unwraps the evil paths of life. It leads a person to the trap of real gambling. Despite the fact that a person has got some chances of winning but that prize too is haram on us.It is believed that Haram money evades the Tranquillity of life. It increases the laden of heart and mind.
The general teaching in Islam is that all money is to be earned—through one’s own honest labour and thoughtful effort or knowledge. One cannot rely upon “luck” or chance to gain things that one doesn’t deserve to earn. Such schemes only benefit a minority of people, while luring the unsuspecting—often those who can least afford it—to spend great amounts of money on the slim chance of winning more. The practice is deceptive and unlawful in Islam.
Conclusion
We should always keep ourselves miles away from such evils and just be loyal to our religion as it is clear that richness doesn’t at last benefit us but our good deeds do .So try to please Allah and don't ever let any kind of greed displease your creator. Consider this world as a trial, how much you gain or lose in this trial depends on how hard you work and make your creator happy. Remember everything you choose is in your hands, so choose the right path and be happy.
