Srinagar, March 6: A visually impaired candidate from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025.

Irfan Ahmad Lone, a resident of Manzpora in the Naidkhai area of Bandipora, made it to the final list of successful candidates announced by the UPSC today.
Lone, who has been visually impaired since birth, cleared the examination after several years of preparation, local residents said.
His success has drawn appreciation from people in the district, who described the achievement as a source of inspiration for many young aspirants.
Residents said Lone pursued his studies despite challenges associated with visual impairment and continued his preparation for the civil services examination.
Family members and locals congratulated Lone on the achievement, saying his success has brought recognition to the district and highlighted the potential of candidates with disabilities to compete in one of the country’s toughest examinations.
