Srinagar, Nov 8: A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir with the possibility of heavy rain or snowfall in the Valley on November 10, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.
The IMD has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on November 10, followed by fairly widespread to widespread precipitation between November 11 and 13.
"Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall likely over Kashmir valley on 12th November," the MeT said.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds reaching 40-50 kmph, with gusts of up to 60 kmph, are also expected at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh between November 10 and 13.
The IMD's regional forecast also indicated the possibility of isolated rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi later in the week. However, its detailed rainfall table showed dry conditions in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi throughout the seven-day forecast period, while indicating isolated rainfall in Punjab from November 12 to 14.
According to the meteorological analysis, an upper-air cyclonic circulation previously located over Punjab and adjoining Himachal Pradesh has shifted towards northern Haryana and neighbouring areas, extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
