The pen can inspire people to revolution as well as supress the voices raised.
There are two types of warfare in the world. One way is to fight through the armed forces and dangerous weapons which results in financial and physical catastrophes. The second way is to attack beliefs and ideologies. Although there is no bleeding in this type of war but on the basis of some aspects it is more dangerous than the first type. This second type of war is called ideological warfare. Every nation that has ruled the world and survived in the history has fought this war. Muslims have proved their mettle by participating aggressively and defensively in this ideological battlefield for centuries, from the time of the holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) until today. Firstly, its purpose was to protect true spirit of Islam and secure identity of Muslims against idealogical warriors. Secondly, it was supposed to spread the message of Islam throughout the world. Therefore, paying deaf ear to this field and leaving it empty may bring bitter consequences.
Unfortunately, due to our constant negligence and shortcomings, this field has slipped out of our hands and fallen into the hands of the enemy. The reason for this was that after the continuous defeat in the Crusades at the hands of the Muslims, a significant intellectual change was observed in the minds of enemy. St. Louis, who fought in the Crusades for eighteen years during the seventh century, pondered and came up with the claim that it is impossible to defeat the Muslims by military means alone. Because Muslims, due to their religious maturity, high moral values and honesty, enter the field during the war with such zeal and passion for martyrdom that it is not possible for us to face them. So now we move the war from the military front to the intellectual and spiritual front. He said as a will a few words which are still preserved in the museum of Paris, to divide the Muslims for victory against them, engage them in obscenity and dishonesty, and bury their morals and try to destroy their close relation with religion.
Therefore, the enemies of Islam started looking for new ways to fight the Muslims on the intellectual front and started looking for rational and psychological weapons. In order to achieve victory in this ideological war, the opponents have been attacking Muslims through false propaganda against them, creating doubts and suspicions about the true religion and various other means. They used all the available resources especially the media relentlessly due to which the weak Muslims severely injured ideologically and fell into the quagmire of tension and confusion. The Muslim Ummah suffered a great loss, the compensation for which requires a long time and determined work.
The poet says; moments went wrong and the centuries get punished. It was our negligence, lack of knowledge and shortcomings, otherwise the Prophet (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) himself achieved far-reaching results by making proper use of the means of media prevalent in his time. Hassan ibn Thabit and and Abdullah Ibn Rawaha were appointed by the Prophet ( Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) to answer the spell of the infidels. Proper use of these resources in ideological warfare can sometimes lead to surprising results. This is the reason that Muslim caliphs and scholars have remained vigilant in this field in every age.
Alas! look at the laziness of the Muslims, let alone competition in the field of writing and speech, they are not ashamed of following the books of Orientalists for explaining their religious issues. More than that, they are turning to educational institutions under their supervision to use the system and curriculum developed by these Orientalists. However, when a Muslim acquires his religion and ideology from these people, he can easily fall into the trap of such people. Every day it is seen that when a person who has been trained by them comes on social media and starts spewing poison against our religious thoughts and ideas, then as a result of this disunity and division another sect comes into existence arising another problem for the Ummah.
Therefore, Muslims should not leave the field of writing and speech empty for the opponents, but should come forward in this field to fulfill the intellectual needs of the Muslims at the highest level. As the great scholars of the past have taken care of it in every age, so that our new generation get rid of these Orientalists and their literature. The second thing to do is to dispel all the false suspicions of the Orientalists in a reasoned manner through writings and speeches. So that the Muslim Ummah remains safe from further misguidance and sectarianism.
In order to achieve these basic goals, Muslims and especially the youth should keep a strong relationship with the pen. Because the pen has a very crucial and powerful role in the ideological war with all of them, whether they are athiests or the followers of false religions. Consider that in different countries of the world, when it comes to enforcing an ideology or law, about 20% of the militancy and 80% of the main weapons of ideological warfare are used by different media. The pen can inspire people to revolution as well as supress the voices raised.
It turns out that learning to write and write well is a great purposeful art. And all Muslims should take up this great weapon of writing to participate in the ideological war. Remember that even after a military action in an area, the field of pen remains so that the mental attitude of the people cannot be deviated from the purpose for which military action was taken. In every era, there were a large number of scholars in the armies of the Muslim nations who worked hard on the minds of people in the conquered areas with their pen and speech.
However, there is a secondary purpose to learning the art of writing that is a mean of earning halal livelihood by staying within the permissible Shariah limits in the right places. In that sense, too, this art can be adopted. But the real and basic purpose is the same as the one mentioned earlier. Therefore, the priority should be given to the first goal. This second goal is sometimes achieved automatically. But if only this second goal is in view, it is often observed that the first goal is lost. Even a good writer, due to lack of proper training, instead of defending islam, sometimes causes harm to islam by falling into the trap of opponents because his purpose is only to earn money which seems to be easy to achieve in this way. Therefore, we must be very careful in this field because our enmity is with a treacherous nation. May Allah help us to achieve these goals successfully.
