Srinagar, Jan 22: An elderly woman, Rashida Begum (65), was found murdered inside her house in Mir Bagh, Nowshera, on Thursday, officials said. Her throat had been slit, prompting shock in the locality.

Police from PS Soura reached the scene, secured the area, and shifted the body to SKIMS Soura for medico-legal formalities.
Family sources identified the suspect as Gorab Malakar, a domestic servant from Assam, who fled the scene but was later arrested in Qazigund. Authorities are investigating the motive, with reports suggesting possible theft of gold ornaments.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing.
