Churachandpur, July 20: Newly commissioned Young Officers of the Assam Regiment visited the Headquarters of the Assam Rifles in Churachandpur on July 19 as part of their orientation and familiarisation programme, aimed at providing them with first-hand exposure to the Force's operational environment, traditions and distinguished legacy.
The visit was designed to acquaint the young officers with the role and responsibilities of Assam Rifles, India's oldest paramilitary force, which has played a pivotal role in maintaining peace and security across the Northeast.
The programme commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Assam Rifles War Memorial, where the officers paid heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. The ceremony served as a reminder of the Force's rich history of sacrifice, courage and unwavering commitment to national security.
During the visit, the officers interacted with senior Assam Rifles personnel and Ex-Servicemen, who shared their operational experiences, leadership lessons and the proud traditions that have shaped the Force over the decades.
