Yousmarg, one of the most picturesque and lesser-explored tourist destinations in Budgam district, is struggling to attract visitors due to poor road infrastructure, lack of reliable mobile connectivity, and what locals describe as government negligence.
Despite its breathtaking meadows, dense pine forests, and tranquil ambiance, tourists often face difficulty reaching Yousmarg due to the deteriorating condition of approach roads. In addition, the absence of stable mobile network coverage makes it challenging for travelers to stay connected, plan trips, or even call for help in case of emergencies.
Local residents and tourism stakeholders have repeatedly appealed to the administration to improve basic infrastructure in the area. “We have the potential to become a top tourist spot, but the poor condition of roads and zero internet connectivity are keeping tourists away,” said a local.
