In a significant step towards promoting martial arts among youth, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Hardpanzoo Budgam successfully conducted selection trials for boys in the All Age Groups category & the trials, held at High School Arizal, covered four key martial arts disciplines,Taekwondo, Boxing, Karate, and Judo.The event witnessed overwhelming participation from students of both government and private schools across the zone, showcasing the growing interest and enthusiasm for martial arts among the youth.The trials were formally inaugurated by Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Headmaster of High School Arizal, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of sports in character building and physical fitness.
Speaking at the inauguration, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh highlighted the department’s commitment to nurturing talent at the grassroots level and providing platforms for young athletes to excel.The athletes who excelled in the trials have earned the opportunity to represent Zone Hardpanzoo at the upcoming district-level competitions, where they will compete with winners from other zones. Their selection marks the beginning of a journey that could lead them to state and national level events in the future.
