Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir today organized a debate competition on the topic "Human Rights Violations can't be controlled without controlling crimes by organized criminal syndicates including terrorist outfits, human trafficking gangs, and narcotic smugglers." The event took place at the conference hall of PCR Kashmir, bringing together a diverse group of participants to discuss this subject matter.
During the inaugural speech, IGP Kashmir Shri V. K. Birdi-IPS extended a warm welcome to the esteemed jury members Shri Parvaiz Hussain Kachroo, Principal Kashmir Law Collage Srinagar (Rtd Principal District & Sessions Judge) as chairman, Shri Laeeq Ahmad Dar (JDP Crime Hqrs J&K) as member, Shri Qazi Abdul Qayoom (JDP ZPHQ) as member and Shri Manzoor Ahmad Mir (CPO ZPHQ) as member, together with all the participants. He outlined the significance of the debate topic, emphasizing how organized criminal syndicates, including terrorist groups, human traffickers, and narcotic smugglers, contribute significantly to human rights abuses. Shri V K Birdi-IPS provided valuable context and set the stage for a robust and insightful discussion among the participants.

Finally, prize distribution ceremony was held, in which winner of best district team was given to PD Awantipora and PD Sopore was declared as runner up best district team. Moreover, Shri Suhail Reshi (DySP) was declared as 1st individual winner, Shri Sheeraz (Ct, EXK-195992) and Shri Tariq Ahmad (Inspector, EXK-022586) were declared winners at 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
