NIT Srinagar organizes internal Smart India Hackathon

 The National Institute of Technology Srinagar (NIT) organized the Internal Smart India Hackathon 2024 on campus in which hundreds of students participated.

Director NIT Prof. A Ravinder Nath was the Chief guest and Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman was the special guest on the occasion. Dr. Dinesh Kumar Rajendran Convenor IIC and SPOC of SIH NIT Srinagar was the coordinator of the Internal Smart India Hackathon.

 In his key address, Prof. Ravinder Nath talked about growing start-up culture and its craze among youth.He congratulated the participants and encouraged them to be part of more such events.

Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rehman appreciated the organizers for conducting Hackathon 2024. He said these activities are the need of the hour and will explore more in-depth knowledge to participants.

"It will act as a stepping stone towards the public-private partnership at our end. NIT Srinagar will be organizing similar programs in future also," Prof. Rehman said.

On the occasion SPOC NIT Srinagar,  Dr Dinesh Kumar Rajendran said that growing start-up culture and how NIT Srinagar is helping to grow that culture in the Kashmir valley.

“This Hackathon is going to be a pivotal point for budding entrepreneurs. NIT is always there to help these budding entrepreneurs in the region,” he said.

The event was attended by hundreds of NIT students in both online and offline mode. The ideas presented by each team were unique and are from diverse fields.

 Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.

Dozens of Students team from NIT Srinagar pitched their start-up ideas in front of the Jury Panel consisting of Dr. Dinesh (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Veningston K (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering) and Dr Saad Parvez Associate Professor Mechanical Engineering

The closing remarks were presented by Dr. Veningston Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering.

He congratulated all participants and talked about how these initiatives are of great help to society and to the future of the nation as well as the world.
