Budgam, Mar 12: Advocate Javed Hubbi, President of the District Bar Association Budgam, has strongly condemned the recent assassination attempt on former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah, calling it a “cowardly act” and a direct attack on the democratic fabric of the region.
In a formal statement, Hubbi emphasized that targeting senior political leaders is unacceptable in a civilized society and urged authorities to conduct a high-level inquiry into the security lapse.
The Bar Association expressed serious concern over how an individual carrying a loaded weapon was able to breach the Z security cover provided to Dr. Abdullah. It has called on the administration to:
Conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the motive behind the attack.
Review and strengthen security protocols for public representatives.
Hold accountable those responsible for the apparent security failure.
