Fitrat is the natural disposition of human beings. when we meet each other in everyday life we ask each other how is your Tabiyat or physical health .we do ask about the Tabiyat or physical health but we do not ask each other about Fitrat that is the natural disposition of human beings .if we are sick we consult doctors ,but if there is disturbance in our fitrat we are negligent and we do not care about Fitrat.
Fitrat is the inner self ,it is the essence of human beings.Almighty Allah says in the Quran" then set your face upright for religion in the right state. the intrinsic human nature made by Allah in which he has made men. there is not altering of Allah's creation ,that is the right religion but most people do not know".
The word Tabiyat means nature.Tabiyat and Fitrat are two different things.these are three terms which are very close to each other .Fitrat ,Tabiyat ,and Gariz ( instincts).
Allah has he has creat human beings on Fitrat.So Tabiyat and Gariza or instincts should be subordinated to Fitrat.if we will take a look on history ,the entire battle is between Fitrat and Tabiyat.the battle between Pharaoh and Hazrat Mossa as ,the battle between Ibrahim AS and Namrood and the battle between Imam Hussain as and Yazid.the people who uphold the string of Fitrat are righteous people and the people whose personality is dominated by Tabiyat are the manifestations of Falsehood.
In other terms we can describe it Imam Hussain as is the physical form of Fitrat and his opposite Camp is the physical form of Tabiyat.If Tabiyat subjugates the existence then it is quagmire for Fitrat.
Allah says in the Surah Shams.
"We have kept in man vices and piety but successful is the one who nurtured Fitrat,and one who has buried it gets annihilated".
We should get acquainted with this topic ,so that we preserve, revive Fitrat in ourselves and ,in our Almighty Allah says in the Quran,human being is not born directionless the human being is not created unique in his physical creation only. his inner self, and his direction is established within his creation.
The means of guidance are in accordance with his Fitrat.Fitrat is the ability through which man receives guidance. the philosophy of religion is to keep human beings on the path of Fitrat. Allah says in the Quran.we have made sky the roof and earth the cradle for human beings. then the question arises why there is no peace on the earth? why there is disturbance ?this earth can be cradle for a human beings ,if he keeps the Fitrat alive .this land has turned into land of hardships, land of calamities .the unlimited desires and abundant lust for wealth ,power has turned this land into hell.The Tabiyat has dominated our existence.
Ibn Sina says ,if a human being accepts any thing without certainty or rejects any thing without certainty ,he has been astray from his Fitrat.
The example of human beings is like water ,if water remain still and stagnant ,it develops germs. water remain pure only with movement. the main purpose of the prophets was to revive the inner spring of human beings.
Allah says in the Quran"I m close to U than jugular vein, call me I will answer.
Allah made many creations,but human beings are the only creations endowed with Fitrat.Allah created Jinns, angels ,and the vast universe.but The unique style of creation is human beings .Fitrat is the style of creation .Imam Ali as says In Nahjul Balagaha,Quran is your Imam ,leader and guide. Human beings are the best of creations and Allah the best creator. but which thing makes human beings best I the Fitrat. Human beings are made of two things body and soul .
The unlimited desires ,lust ,envy , malevolence are part of Tabiyat or body .and the traits like quench of knowledge, accepting truth , generosity etc are part of Fitrat .karabala was a battle between these two forces. If we apply the Quranic principles of Fitrah (innate human disposition) and Tabiyat to modern society, we conclude that we have crushed Fitrah and allowed Tabiah to dominate. From the individual to the social level, and from nations to the international stage, we see how Tabiah has overpowered Fitrah. Globally, looking at the massacre of innocent children and the sexual abuse of innocent girls—is this not due to casting Fitrah aside and letting Tabiah prevail?
