
Srinagar, June 24: In a major step towards enhancing cybersecurity preparedness and safeguarding critical digital infrastructure, the Department of Information Technology, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, in collaboration with the Directorate of Information Technology & Support Systems (IT&SS), University of Kashmir, and with support from the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), organised a State-Level Consultative Workshop on “Strengthening Cybersecurity Frameworks for State Data” at the University of Kashmir on Wednesday.
The workshop was part of a nationwide consultative initiative led by NeGD and MeitY to develop a comprehensive and future-ready cybersecurity framework for States and Union Territories. The exercise aims to strengthen cyber resilience, secure critical digital infrastructure, protect citizen data and promote safe digital governance.
The event brought together senior government officials, cybersecurity experts, law enforcement representatives, banking professionals, academicians and IT practitioners to deliberate on emerging cyber threats, data protection strategies and institutional readiness for securing critical digital assets.
