27 Assam Rifles marks Raising Day with pride

New Delhi, Sep 2: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks of the force, extended warm greetings and best wishes to the officers and personnel of 27 Assam Rifles on the occasion of its Raising Day.

The occasion marked an opportunity to honour the unit’s service, dedication and contribution to the nation, while recognising the commitment of its personnel who continue to serve in challenging operational environments.
Extending his greetings, Lt Gen Lakhera conveyed his appreciation to all ranks of 27 Assam Rifles for their professionalism, discipline and steadfast commitment to duty.
The Raising Day holds special significance for the unit, providing an occasion to remember its journey, acknowledge the sacrifices of its personnel and reaffirm its commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to it.
Assam Rifles, one of the country's oldest paramilitary forces, has played a significant role in maintaining security and stability in the Northeast while also undertaking a range of activities aimed at strengthening ties with local communities.
The force has consistently emphasised operational preparedness alongside community engagement, with its personnel participating in initiatives related to education, healthcare, youth development and assistance to people in remote areas.
