When we enter the Prophet's Mosque through the Bab-e-Salam and go to greet the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), the verse number 2 of Surah Al-Hujurat is written in golden letters on the lattice outside the blessed grave of the Prophet (ﷺ).

Surah No 49 : Surah Al-Hujurat - Ayat No 2
O you who have believed! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak to him loudly as you speak to one another, lest your deeds be rendered worthless while you perceive not.
This verse was not written just for beauty but for everyone who comes to pay their respects to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Let us try to understand the background of this verse.
There is an incident behind this verse. Once a delegation came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Medina. Some of the noble companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) started talking loudly. Although the companions did not do this intentionally, rather some of them had a natural habit of talking loudly. But this verse was revealed by Allah Almighty. A companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Hazrat Thabit bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him), who had a naturally loud voice, became very afraid after the revelation of this verse that all his deeds had been lost. He locked himself in his house and cried a lot, saying, "I have become one of the people of Hell."
When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was told why Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) had disappeared, he did not scold him. He said, "Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) is not from the Fire at all." He (ﷺ) said: “Rather, he is from the people of Paradise.”
This incident is recorded in Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 4846.
This incident tells us how polite one should be to attend the court of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Today, many people entering through the Salam Gate are talking loudly and some are on video calls, and I have also seen some people who are running to go to the next pages in Riyadh Al-Jannah. May Allah avoid all such things, lest we waste our deeds by being rude. May Allah Almighty grant us all the happiness of attending His and His beloved’s house politely, Amen, Amen.
