Budgam, July 24: Senior J&K BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma on Friday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the son of slain Head Constable Ashiq Hussain and assured the bereaved family of all possible assistance.

The LoP visited the family of the slain policeman at Lalpora, Beerwah in Budgam district to offer condolences with the family.
The police head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was killed in a terror attack in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag on Wednesday.
“The Home Minister talked to the son of the slain policeman over the phone. The family shared their concerns directly with the Home Minister, who assured them that the Central Government stands firmly with them and would extend every possible support," Sharma told reporters.
Hailing the sacrifice of the policeman, the LoP said two generations of the family have served the nation with dedication.
He said the policeman’s sacrifice would be honoured and that efforts would be made to name a school or another public institution after him in recognition of his service for the nation.
