Kiphire, Aug 31:In a heartening initiative to foster unity and broaden horizons, the Assam Rifles flagged off a National Integration Tour on 29 August 2025, comprising 20 students and two teachers from PM Shri Government High School, Yangphi in the Kiphire district of Nagaland.
The tour, which includes stops in Kohima, Delhi, and Agra, is aimed at promoting cultural exchange, nurturing national pride, and giving students from remote regions an opportunity to witness India's diverse heritage and progress firsthand.
Organized under the banner of the Assam Rifles’ continued civic outreach efforts, the tour is part of a larger vision to connect youth from the Northeast with the rest of the country. The participants will visit historical landmarks, engage with educational institutions, and interact with people from varied cultural and professional backgrounds — all of which are expected to inspire them with a deeper understanding of India's unity in diversity.
A senior officer from Assam Rifles, while addressing the students during the flag-off ceremony, said, “This tour is not just a journey across cities — it’s a journey of growth, learning, and discovering what it truly means to be part of a great nation like India.”
The students, many of whom will be traveling outside their state for the first time, expressed excitement and gratitude. “We are thankful to Assam Rifles for giving us this opportunity. We look forward to learning and sharing our own culture with others,” said one of the students before departure.
Through such tours, Assam Rifles continues to strengthen civil-military ties and play a pivotal role in promoting peace, progress, and patriotism in the Northeast.
