Srinagar, July 27: Schools across Jammu and Kashmir reopened on Monday as students returned to classrooms following the conclusion of the summer vacation, which had been extended due to persistent rainfall and adverse weather conditions.

Educational institutions across the Union Territory resumed regular academic activities, with students arriving in large numbers after the prolonged closure. School campuses witnessed a lively atmosphere as teachers welcomed students back for the new academic session.

The summer break had been extended by the authorities as a precautionary measure in view of continuous heavy rainfall and prevailing weather conditions to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Officials said schools have resumed functioning as per schedule. They also advised school administrations to remain alert and strictly follow any weather related advisories issued by the authorities.

Parents welcomed the reopening of schools and expressed hope that academic activities would continue without further interruptions.
