Srinagar, July 23: The Indian Army, through the Red Shield Division under the Spear Corps, continues to provide extensive humanitarian assistance in the flood-affected districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo and Jorhat in Assam, despite challenging weather and difficult terrain.

Officials said Army flood relief columns have been carrying out round-the-clock rescue and relief operations to assist stranded families and restore normalcy in the affected areas.
As part of the ongoing operations, more than 1,000 people have been rescued, while over 200 individuals have received medical assistance through Army medical teams deployed in the flood-hit regions.
Relief columns have also distributed essential supplies, including food, drinking water and other necessities, to affected communities facing hardships due to inundation and disrupted connectivity.
With floodwaters gradually receding, Army personnel have shifted focus towards restoring critical road connectivity and supporting the revival of essential public services to help affected residents return to normal life.
The Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people during natural disasters, stating that its personnel remain fully dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and ensuring the safety and well-being of affected communities.
The relief operations continue in close coordination with the civil administration and local authorities as efforts intensify to restore normalcy across the flood-affected districts of Assam.
