Assam Rifles extends medical aid in Northeast

Tupul/Peren, July 24: Assam Rifles under Spear Corps extended timely medical assistance to a snakebite victim at Tupul, Manipur, while also organising a Medical Awareness and Assistance Programme in collaboration with Community Health Centre (CHC) Tening at Peren, Nagaland, reaffirming its commitment towards the welfare and healthcare needs of border communities.

In Tupul, Assam Rifles personnel responded swiftly after receiving information about a snakebite incident and provided immediate medical support to the affected individual. The timely intervention helped ensure that the victim received necessary care at the crucial initial stage.
In Peren district of Nagaland, Assam Rifles, in coordination with CHC Tening, conducted a medical awareness programme aimed at promoting healthcare awareness among local residents. The initiative focused on hygiene practices, prevention of seasonal diseases and the importance of timely medical consultation.
During the programme, medical personnel interacted with community members, addressed health-related concerns and provided guidance on preventive measures to maintain better health and well-being.
The initiatives highlighted Assam Rifles’ continued efforts to support communities residing in remote and border areas by providing essential services beyond its security responsibilities.
