Shillong, Sep 8: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks of the Force, paid solemn tribute to a valiant soldier who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on September 8, 2008.

The Assam Rifles remembered the fallen soldier for his courage, dedication and unwavering commitment to duty. The solemn remembrance marked the anniversary of the supreme sacrifice made while serving the nation.
Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera and personnel of the Force honoured the martyr’s service and sacrifice, reaffirming the Assam Rifles’ enduring tradition of remembering those who laid down their lives in the discharge of their responsibilities.
