February 27, 2026 | BK News Service

Agartala, Feb 26: As part of #OperationSadbhavana, the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted extensive outreach activities at Tripura University and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala, engaging with students and faculty to promote youth awareness, community relations, and national integration.

The initiative was part of the Eastern Edge Expedition, a program designed to foster connectivity between the armed forces and local communities while highlighting the importance of discipline, leadership, and civic responsibility. During the visits, personnel interacted with students through discussions, motivational sessions, and demonstrations, emphasizing the role of youth in nation-building, innovation, and social harmony.
In addition to institutional engagements, the expedition team embarked on a cultural and heritage tour across Agartala, including visits to Ujjayanta Palace, Unakoti Eco Park, and the Albert Ekka War Memorial. These visits aimed to enhance appreciation for Tripura’s history, art, and the sacrifices of soldiers, reinforcing the link between heritage, patriotism, and civic consciousness.
The biking team also covered several routes across Tripura, interacting with locals en route, fostering goodwill, and encouraging recreational fitness and adventure sports as a medium for positive engagement. The expedition exemplified the Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to community engagement, youth development, and promotion of cultural awareness, while strengthening civil-military relations in the region.
Officials from educational institutions lauded the Assam Rifles’ initiative, noting that such interactions provide students with practical insights into national service, leadership, and resilience, inspiring them to contribute positively to society.
Through these combined activities, the Eastern Edge Expedition successfully reinforced the dual objectives of Operation Sadbhavana: nurturing community bonds and showcasing the multifaceted role of the armed forces in promoting national integration, heritage preservation, and youth empowerment in Tripura
