July 22, 2026 | BK News Service

Imphal, July 21: Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, organised a series of community outreach programmes at Shalluk, Lamlong Khunou and Larong in Manipur, reinforcing its commitment to public welfare, youth empowerment and stronger civil-military relations.

As part of the initiatives, the force conducted pre-recruitment screening camps to guide aspiring candidates preparing for recruitment in the Territorial Army. Participants received physical assessments, career counselling and guidance on eligibility criteria, helping them prepare for future opportunities in the Armed Forces.
The outreach programme also included free medical camps where residents were provided consultations, basic health check-ups and medicines. Medical teams interacted with villagers, offering advice on preventive healthcare and encouraging regular health monitoring.
In addition, Assam Rifles personnel held security and community interaction meetings with local residents, discussing issues related to peace, public safety, livelihood opportunities and the role of youth in fostering stability and development. The interactions also encouraged greater cooperation between the security forces and local communities.
Officials said the programmes aimed to build trust, promote awareness and create opportunities for young people while addressing the welfare needs of residents in remote areas.
The initiatives reflect the continued commitment of the Assam Rifles to supporting community development, strengthening military-civil cooperation and contributing to lasting peace and progress in Manipur.
