Authorities said on Friday that 17 students scored full marks in the Class 10 board examinations held in Kashmir

A BOSE official said 17 students scored straight 'A's in the results that were declared on Friday. Once again, girls outshined better than boys. Over 75,000 students had appeared in the Class 10 examinations, conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, in October last year, officials said.
Of the total 75,132 students who appeared in the board exams 76.09 percent have girls passed while 74.04 percent boys have passed these examinations.
Of the total students 9,441 passed in grade A, 11,347 in A2 and 11,050 in B1 grade. However 18,626 could not qualify the examinations. Recently JKBOSE 12th annual Result 2020 for Jammu Division (Winter Zone) was released.
Officials said the pass percentage was 75 per cent. However, the girls' pass percentage was 76.06 per cent while 74.04 percent boys who appeared in the exam were declared to have passed.
“At least 17 students had straight 'A's in all subjects with an overwhelming majority of the toppers being girls,” officials said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) declared the Secondary School Examination (SSC or Class 10) annual regular results for Kashmir division. Students who have appeared in the JKBOSE class 10 annual examination 2020 from Kashmir division can check their results by visiting jkbose.ac.in.
A 17-year-old girl student from Buzgoo Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district attempted to end her life by consuming poisonous substance on Friday after failing to clear the class 10th exam.
Sources said that soon after the results of class 10th examinations were out, a girl student (name withheld) of Buzgoo Chadoora, who failed to qualify in the examinations, tried to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance at home.
Police officials said the family members immediately took her to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora where doctors referred her to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital where her condition is stated to be stable
