The third wave of Covid-19 is in full swing all across the country. The Omicron variant is shaking healthcare apparatus all across the world. There is manifold increase in daily cases in our UT of J&K. Now thousands of positive cases are being reported on daily basis. Having said, it is the bounden responsibility of executive as well as common masses to fight this united war against this deadly disease. The state apparatus is trying its level best to neutralize its growing dimensions. But at the same time, the common masses are resorting to worst kind of carelessness in this respect. The district healthcare authorities have done remarkable intervention by involving reputed preachers in their mass awareness programmes.

Firstly, the executive is duty bound to deliver its constitutional responsibilities as far as healthcare of common masses is concerned. The healthcare authorities have fought this deadly virus from day one. They have fought this war from the front. Thousands of healthcare workers have lost their lives during 1st & 2nd waves of this virus. Healthcare is the only tool of executive, which is most effective deterrent to this virus. The global healthcare watchdog WHO is fighting this virus on global level. Now the 3rd wave of Omicron is a great challenge before healthcare authorities. The 3rd wave of Covid will inshallah also get defeated very soon through dedicated efforts of healthcare authorities all across the globe. The respective executive governments of all countries need to recognize the exemplary contributions of healthcare workers during Covid-19 pandemic. Healthcare workers should be given special salary packages in order to boost their morale. There are various tools in the hands of states to encourage them at various levels. They are real heroes in this entire fight against Covid-19.
Secondly, the role of common masses in fight against Covid-19 is of paramount importance. Unfortunately the common masses are manifesting level of carelessness everywhere. The common masses are violating Covid-19 protocols at every public place like Hospitals ,bus stops, banks & tourist spots. No one is respecting the official announced protocols. I myself working in banking sector is witness to gross carelessness of common masses. I am not witnessing any responsible behavior amongst our customers, as far as Covid-19 is concerned. Every customer is entering the premises without face masks. Social distancing protocols are being violated in broad-day light. We try our level best to ensure the implementation of Covid-19 protocols, but do not succeed owing to gross irresponsibility of common masses. Same is the cases with other public places particularly government offices. We are not only risking our lives but lives of all people around us.
Last but not the least, the intervention of district healthcare authorities in our Budgam district is of utmost importance. The involvement of reputed religious preachers will definitely infuse a sense of responsibility in common masses. The video messages of these religious preachers are being circulated on social networking sites, which is worth appreciating. These religious preachers have considerable influence our common masses. The relevant authorities should involve other civil society members as well to effectively reach out to common masses. The healthcare authorities of all districts should vigorously create mass awareness through public & civil society representatives. Let us hope that Almighty Allah will save entire humanity from this deadly virus
