DG Assam Rifles visits Ghaspani Garrison

Ghaspani, April 6: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of #AssamRifles, visited the Ghaspani Garrison in Chumoukedima District on April 6, 2026, to interact with troops and students and review ongoing initiatives at the station.

During his visit, the DG engaged with the second batch of students at the Subedar P B Chhetri, Kirti Chakra, Centre of Excellence (NIEDO), commending their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence. He emphasized the importance of discipline, continuous learning, and the integration of professional skills with leadership qualities to excel both on and off the field.
Lt Gen Lakhera also spent time with serving personnel at the garrison, appreciating their hard work, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty. He encouraged the troops to maintain high standards of operational readiness and personal conduct while motivating them to consistently strive for excellence in all spheres of service.
In recognition of exceptional performance, the DG presented the Director General Assam Rifles Commendation Cards to personnel who demonstrated outstanding contributions in operational duties and community engagement. He highlighted the significance of acknowledging merit and fostering a culture of motivation and accountability within the forces.
