Srinagar, July 30: The Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday ordered the attachment of immovable properties belonging to five notorious terrorists currently operating from Pakistan.
Police has also secured proclamation proceedings against top Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Mohammad Qasim, officials said.
The DGP ordered the attachment of properties belonging to the five Pakistan-based terrorists.
A police spokesman said properties of five Pakistan-based terror handlers were attached during the investigation in a case registered under relevant sections at the Police Station in Mahore, district Reasi.
The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Mahore and local witnesses, he said.
The immovable properties belonging to Alaf Din alias Mir Baj Ghulam Mohd alias Gamma, Mohammad Asraf, Shabir Ahmad and Bihar Din, all residents of Mahore, Reasi were attached.
“The identified persons intended to facilitate and finance terrorist activities through sale proceeds of these properties,” the spokesman said.
He said during the investigation, credible evidence established that the accused persons had exfiltrated to Pakistan for terrorist training and are presently operating as terror handlers from across the border, actively promoting, facilitating and coordinating terrorist activities.
“The investigation further revealed that these properties were liable to be alienated, with the proceeds intended to finance and sustain terrorist operations. Based on the findings, Police, after obtaining the requisite approval from the Police HQ J&K, attached the properties under the relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, to prevent their misuse for terror financing,” the spokesman said.
"The action reflects the firm resolve of Reasi Police to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting terrorism. By targeting assets linked to terror operatives, the police aim to disrupt the terror ecosystem and deny anti-national elements the resources required to sustain their activities," added the spokesman.
Besides, J&K Police has secured proclamation proceedings against Mohammad Qasim, a top Lashkar operative currently operating from Pakistan. His property had already been attached in March 2026.
