
: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg today chaired a high-level meeting of officers at D.C Office Kupwara to review the district’s preparedness for the upcoming winter season.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; SSP Kupwara, Syed Al-Tahir Gilani; ADDC, ADC Kupwara, ADC Handwara, besides, all district and sectoral officers.
During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner took a detailed review of snow clearance machinery, availability of essential commodities, power and water supply preparedness, healthcare arrangements, and communication strategies for snow-bound and border areas including Karnah, Keran, Machil, Jumagund and Budnamal.
He directed all the departments to ensure prompt and coordinated action plans are in place to tackle any exigencies during snowfall.He also took review of District Capex Budget and some major Projects.
The Div Com took review of the availability of essential commodities in border and hilly areas and was informed that adequate stock of essential commodities including food grains, LPG and other essentials are available in areas like Karnah, Keran, and Machil for the upcoming winter season.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara assured that all necessary measures have been initiated and the administration is fully geared to meet any winter challenges.
The Divisional Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the district administration and urged for continued coordination among the departments to ensure public convenience and safety.
The Divisional Commissioner also took review of the ongoing construction of RKCTC National Highway, Mission YUVA and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abiyan.
Regarding redressal of public grievances, the Div Com directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to fix the Grievances Redressal Day in their jurisdictions to ensure effective public outreach.
He also directed the concerned officers for timely disposal of migrant land applications after following the devised checklist. Besides, officers were directed to ensure strict adherence to PSGA during the delivery of the services.
