Anantnag, Sep 6: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party from Police Station Mattan during naka checking at Rambirpora, Mattan apprehended a person identified as Danish Ahmad Lone son of Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Lone resident of Rambirpora, Mattan. During his personal search, approximately 146 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he has been arrested and shifted to police station.
Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 99/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mattan, and investigation has been taken up.
Police reiterates its commitment to curbing the menace of drugs and taking strict legal action against those involved in drug trafficking.
