GOC 3 Corps calls on Manipur Governor

Imphal, July 21: Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Corps, and Major General Gaurav Sharma, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), called on the Governor of Manipur at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the senior Army commanders briefed the Governor on the prevailing security situation in the state, ongoing counter-insurgency operations, and the coordinated efforts being undertaken by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles to maintain peace and stability in Manipur.
The discussions also focused on strengthening civil-military cooperation, enhancing coordination with state authorities, and ensuring effective security arrangements to safeguard public safety and normalcy across the region.
The Governor appreciated the professionalism, dedication, and sustained efforts of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in maintaining law and order, assisting the civil administration, and fostering confidence among the people.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the security forces and the state administration to work in close coordination for lasting peace, stability, and development in Manipur.
