Govt Gears Up for Viksit Bharat Yuva connect prog ahead of Aug 12 launch: CS

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today reviewed preparations for the upcoming Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme (VBYCP)—a flagship youth initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, set to launch nationwide on August 12, 2025, coinciding with International Youth Day.
The programme, envisioned under the guidance of the Prime Minister of India, aims to engage and empower the youth as pivotal stakeholders in the national mission of building a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.
In a comprehensive meeting, the Chief Secretary held discussions with Vice Chancellors of all 10 universities in Jammu and Kashmir, enquiring about their readiness for both the main event and the pre-event activities. He emphasized the need for a well-structured calendar to ensure all pre-event engagements are executed smoothly.
Dulloo urged university heads to motivate students to register on the My Bharat Portal, stressing that the activities should be interactive, youth-centric, and aligned with the core themes of the programme.
Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Shantmanu, shared the broader national roadmap. He informed that the inaugural event would be conducted simultaneously in 1,339 universities across India, including central, state, deemed, and private institutions. On this day, the Prime Minister will address students nationwide, followed by a presentation on the Viksit Bharat vision, Yuva Samvad (Youth Parliament) sessions, the Viksit Bharat Shapath (Pledge), and felicitation of student achievers.
In addition, the programme will actively integrate the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign). Universities have been directed to organize a range of awareness and
The initiative aims to channel the energy of the youth into nation-building efforts, reinforcing the vision of a self-reliant, progressive, and inclusive India by 2047.
The Chief Secretary concluded by calling for inter-departmental collaboration, consistent student involvement, and proactive outreach to ensure maximum participation from universities and youth organizations across Jammu and Kashmir.
