Srinagar, July 18: A senior manager of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Sempora area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.

Preliminary reports suggest that the official is suspected to have died by suicide after allegedly hanging himself. A police team from Police Station Pantha Chowk reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and took charge of the investigation.

The body was shifted for medico-legal examination, while police initiated legal proceedings to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

The cause and circumstances leading to the suspected suicide have not yet been established, and further investigation is underway.
