
The Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat, chaired a security review meeting at the District Police Office, Shopian, to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness ahead of Republic Day 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior officers including Special DGP Coordination Shri S.J.M. Gillani, IGP Kashmir Zone Shri V.K. Birdi, DIG South Kashmir Range Shri Javaid Iqbal Matoo, SSP Shopian Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, along with other gazetted officers and SHOs of Shopian district.
DGP Prabhat reviewed law and order management, counter-terrorism readiness, crime control measures, and security arrangements for Republic Day celebrations. He emphasized heightened alertness, robust intelligence-led operations, and intensified area domination to ensure peaceful and incident-free events.
He directed officers to act firmly against anti-national elements while maintaining a people-friendly policing approach. The DGP stressed zero tolerance for threats to public safety and the importance of professionalism, dedication, and sustained operations to uphold law and security in Shopian.
