October 09, 2026 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Srinagar, October 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has notified a 21-day timeline for delivering key public services under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Guarantee Act, 2011, in a move aimed at improving administrative efficiency and reducing delays in official approvals.

The prescribed timeline covers essential clearances, including No Objection Certificates (NOCs) required for building permissions from departments such as Revenue, Forest, Jal Shakti, the Power Development Department, Roads and Buildings, and local development authorities.

The initiative is intended to streamline the approval process and ensure that citizens receive the required services within the stipulated period.

The move is also expected to strengthen accountability in government departments by setting a defined timeframe for processing applications and issuing clearances.

The government aims to make public service delivery more transparent, efficient and accessible, while reducing procedural hurdles faced by residents across Jammu and Kashmir.

The notification falls under the framework of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Guarantee Act, 2011, which provides for time-bound delivery of designated public services.
