New Delhi, Sep 2: Serious questions have reportedly been raised regarding the deployment of government employees at the Jammu & Kashmir House in New Delhi. Lecturers, medical doctors and veterinary doctors—who belong to important professional services—are allegedly being assigned duties related to housekeeping, canteen management and establishment work instead of their respective professional responsibilities. Allotments of rooms are done by lecturers, they are doing nexus there.

It has also been alleged that veterinary doctors are being engaged in establishment-related sections, while outsourced employees have reportedly been continuing in the establishment for several years. Without tender for long time, these outsourcing employees are working there. As per the RTI activists, no replies of RTIS are coming from Jammu and Kashmir House.Questions have further been raised regarding the government facilities and benefits allegedly being extended to outsourced staff.
The matter requires a thorough and impartial investigation to ascertain under whose orders such deployments were made, whether the employees concerned were authorised to perform these duties, and who issued the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs), if any.
It has also been alleged that some officers at J&K House have been occupying or continuing in their respective positions for unusually long periods. This too, according to concerned persons, warrants examination in the interest of transparency and proper administration.
In view of the seriousness of the allegations, an appeal is being made to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly the Lieutenant Governor, to look into the matter and order an appropriate inquiry. A transparent investigation would help establish the facts, fix responsibility wherever required, and ensure that government manpower and facilities are utilised strictly in accordance with rules and public interest
