Kohima, July 25: Assam Rifles organised a commemorative bike rally to mark the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice and dedication of the brave soldiers of the 1999 Kargil War.

The rally was dedicated to Capt Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC (Posthumous), a decorated Kargil hero from Nagaland whose bravery continues to inspire generations.
The event was flagged off from the Assam Rifles Garrison Helipad, Kohima by Nagaland Governor Shri Nand Kishore Yadav, who attended as the Chief Guest. Before the flag-off ceremony, the Governor felicitated the parents of Capt Kenguruse in recognition of their son’s supreme sacrifice and service to the nation.
Maj Gen H S Mavi, IGAR (North) was also present during the occasion. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from Assam Rifles personnel, veterans, motorcycle clubs, youth and members of civil society.
The event highlighted the spirit of patriotism, national unity and the enduring legacy of Kargil heroes while strengthening the bond between the armed forces and local communities. It also served as a reminder of the courage and commitment displayed by India’s soldiers in safeguarding the nation.
