Sajik Tampak, Chandel, July 24: In the run-up to the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Assam Rifles organised a patriotic awareness programme at Sajik Tampak in Chandel District, Manipur, on 23 July 2026 to commemorate the historic victory of Operation Vijay and honour the supreme sacrifices of Indian soldiers during the 1999 Kargil War.

The precursor event was organised to build awareness among the younger generation about the bravery, courage and dedication displayed by the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil conflict. Students and local participants were educated about the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the valour of the soldiers who fought under challenging conditions to safeguard the nation.
During the programme, Assam Rifles personnel highlighted the importance of patriotism, discipline, courage and national service. The event also served as a platform to inspire young minds to respect the sacrifices made by the armed forces and understand the values of commitment and duty.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative and acknowledged the efforts of Assam Rifles in connecting with communities through awareness programmes and patriotic activities.
The programme reflected Assam Rifles’ continued commitment towards fostering national pride, strengthening civil-military relations and ensuring that the stories of courage and sacrifice from India’s military history remain alive among future generations.
