SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Labour and Employment Department has issued a clarification over video clips from a review meeting held on October 14, 2026, which have been circulating on social media in a selectively edited form.
The Department said the meeting, chaired by the Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, was held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and covered a comprehensive review of departmental performance across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. It added that the complete recording of the proceedings is available with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
During the meeting, the Chair highlighted the expectations attached to Mission YUVA and called upon district officers to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, accountability and commitment. Officers were also urged to ensure the effective implementation of the mission and the timely delivery of its benefits to eligible youth.
The Department stressed that mutual respect, discipline and professional conduct must remain central to official interactions. It said all officers and officials are expected to maintain appropriate respect for their seniors while performing their duties. It also underlined that provocative statements and inappropriate language have no place in administrative meetings, which should be conducted with restraint, dignity and mutual respect.
Expressing regret over the developments surrounding the meeting, the Department said the circulation of selectively edited clips without the full context of the discussions was a matter of concern. It maintained that the clips being shared on social media are unverified and warned that editing internal administrative proceedings selectively could give a misleading impression of what transpired during the meeting.
The Department further stated that the matter would be pursued to its logical conclusion in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
Appealing to the media and the public, the Department urged everyone to exercise caution and avoid circulating or relying on unverified and sensationalised material on social media.
It reiterated its commitment to empowering youth, ensuring the effective implementation of Mission YUVA and strengthening public service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
