A Legal Literacy Awareness Programme was held today at Government Degree College Charar-e-Sharief, organized by the School of Law, University of Kashmir, in collaboration with the Government Degree College Charar-e-Sharief. The event aimed to enhance awareness among students and faculty regarding legal rights, duties, and the functioning of the justice system.
The programme witnessed active participation from both students and faculty members of Government Degree College Charar-e-Sharief and the School of Law, University of Kashmir.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Professor Arshid Hussain, Principal of the college, who emphasized the importance of legal awareness in today’s dynamic socio-political environment. This was followed by an overview of the programme delivered by Professor Shahnaz, Head of the School of Law, University of Kashmir. She highlighted the objectives of the initiative and the need to promote legal literacy among youth for fostering a just and informed society.
Several students from the School of Law, Kashmir University, also spoke on the occasion, presenting insightful perspectives on various legal topics and contemporary issues related to law and justice. Their contributions enriched the discussion and added academic depth to the event.
The programme was lauded for providing a platform for meaningful engagement and for bridging academic knowledge with practical understanding of the legal system. It concluded with an interactive session and a vote of thanks, marking a successful collaboration between the two institutions.
