Srinagar, Jan 1: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir on Friday achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting a hard-core lady drug peddler, Tamana Ashraf, daughter of Mohammad Ashraf and a resident of Batamaloo, Srinagar. She was wanted in FIR No. 10/2023 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act registered at ANTF Jammu and had been evading arrest for the past three years.

According to officials, the accused is involved in trafficking more than 7 kilograms of charas, which was being sent to Mumbai through courier services. Since the registration of the case, she had been on the run, frequently changing locations across different states to avoid arrest.

After sustained surveillance and continuous efforts, ANTF J&K successfully apprehended her in a tactful, intelligence-led operation from her residence in Batamaloo, Srinagar, on January 1, 2026.

Officials said the arrest reflects ANTF J&K’s unwavering commitment to combating narcotics trafficking and dismantling drug networks operating within and outside the Union Territory.
