
G P Singh, IPS, DG CRPF has flagged off the 03rd Women Bike Expedition of CRPF today at Lal Chowk, Srinagar consisting of 33 spirited women bikers, carrying forward the message of patriotism and national integration. All riders will ride Royal Enfield – 350cc Bullets. Apart from the Chief Guest, Dr Anamika Singh, President (CWA, CRPF), Sh Deepak Kumar, IPS ADG (Training) CRPF, Sh SJM Gilani, IPS, SDG (Coordination) J&K Police, Sh Rajesh Kumar, IPS, ADG JK Zone CRPF, Smt Sundari Yadav, Regional President CWA, Sh Vidhi Kumar Virdi, IPS, IGP Kashmir Zone, J&K Police, Sh Vineet Brij Lal, IPS, IG Kashmir Ops Sector CRPF, Sh Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF, Maj. Gen. Abhijeet Mitra, GoC 31 Sub area, Sh P R Jambholkar, DIG CRPF, Sh P K Singh, DIG CRPF, Sh Rajiv Pandey, IPS, DIG, J&K Police, Sh G V Sundeep, IPS, SSP Srinagar along with many dignitaries & senior officers of J&K Govt, Police & Army were also present on the occasion. At the outset, ADG JK Zone Sh Rajesh Kumar welcomed the chief guest and then IG CRPF Sh Pawan Kumar Sharma highlighted the importance & objective of said expedition. The students of Tyndale Biscoe School, Biglobe Sanstha Bemina & Chhatabal Mansa Taekwondo club were part of this well-organized event. Demonstration of Taekwondo and Kashmiri Folk Dance (Rouf) presented by students were another highlight of the event. 11 Martyrs families of CRPF were also honored by DG CRPF.
Describing the symbolic importance of the expedition, the DG CRPF said, “This high-altitude mission reflects CRPF’s contribution to India’s internal security over the past sixty-six years. Flagging it off from Kashmir’s historic Lal Chowk fills me with immense happiness, pride and honour.” He greeted all the CRPF women riders, who are set to undertake a seven-day, high-altitude expedition from Lal Chowk to Pangong Tso and back and added that that the CRPF Women's High Altitude Bike Expedition is a testament to the force's commitment to excellence, adventure, and nation-building. DG CRPF thanked the citizens present, especially the locals of Lal Chowk, saying, “Your encouragement inspires us and strengthens our resolve to serve and protect.” He also thanked the present dignitaries, families, school kids, and media personnel for their support and wishes.
The expedition is being led by Sh Balabh Sharma, DIG, Brigadier Sh SP Rai, DIG and Sh D.K Singh, DIG. The expedition is of 07 days from 23rd September to 1st October 2025 & cover approximately 1400 KM from Srinagar to Leh-Khardungla-Pangong Tso and back. Covering a challenging route of 1400 KMs from Srinagar to Pangong Tso & back, the expedition is a vibrant display of women empowerment, resilience, grit, and teamwork of CRPF women warriors.
