Srinagar, July 31: The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from the Baltal route remained suspended on Friday after heavy rainfall and inclement weather damaged sections of the track, prompting authorities to undertake restoration work.

Officials said the suspension was ordered as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of pilgrims after the recent downpour affected parts of the route. Restoration teams have been deployed to repair the damaged stretches, while the movement of pilgrims from the Baltal base camp has been halted until the track is declared safe.

The pilgrimage from the traditional Pahalgam route also continued to remain suspended due to adverse weather conditions and ongoing restoration work.

Authorities have advised pilgrims to stay at their designated base camps and wait for further instructions. The yatra will resume only after the tracks are restored and weather conditions become favourable.
