
Srinagar, May 15: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, chaired a high-level security review and coordination meeting at Srinagar to assess the prevailing security situation and review the operational preparedness across the region.During the meeting, the Army Commander was briefed by all Joint Control Centres (JCCs), which provided comprehensive operational updates regarding the existing security dynamics, counter-terrorism measures, intelligence coordination, and the overall security environment in the Kashmir Valley and adjoining areas. Senior officials and key stakeholders from various security and intelligence agencies were present during the review meeting.Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma emphasised the importance of strengthening inter-agency synergy and seamless coordination among all security forces to ensure rapid intelligence dissemination and swift execution of joint operations. He stressed that close cooperation between the Army, police, intelligence agencies, and other security establishments remains crucial for maintaining peace, stability, and a robust counter-terrorism grid in the region.The Army Commander also appreciated the professionalism, vigilance, and commitment displayed by all forces operating in challenging conditions and urged them to continue working in close coordination to effectively counter emerging security threats.The meeting reflected the continued focus of the Indian Army and other security agencies on maintaining a high state of operational readiness and ensuring peace and security across Jammu and Kashmir.
