An army soldier was killed in an exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Dudu area of Basantgarh of Udhampur on Thursday.

Taking on micro-blogging platform X, the army's Knight Corps wrote, "Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation with @JmuKmrPolice was launched today in Basantgarh, Udhampur.
Contact was established and a fierce firefight ensued.
