Anantnag, October 5: A motorcyclist was critically injured after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in the Checki Kanganhall area of Achabal in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday afternoon.

The injured rider has been identified as Simaq Fayaz Naikoo, son of Fayaz Ahmad Naikoo, a resident of Peertakiya Brinty, Anantnag.

Reports said he was riding a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03L-4115 when the accident occurred. He sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to SDH Achabal, from where doctors referred him to GMC Anantnag for specialised medical treatment.

His condition is reported to be critical.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to trace the vehicle involved in the accident.
