The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office Srinagar, organised an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at Syed Mehdi Memorial Auditorium, Kargil, today. The programme was organized under the themes Viksit Bharat, Swachhata, Mission LiFE, New Criminal Laws, and Vigilance Awareness to raise awareness among the youth and local communities about India’s developmental journey, environmental protection, sustainable lifestyle practices, and citizen-centric governance.

Students from Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Kargil, participated with great enthusiasm besides resource persons from multiple departments including Education, Forest, Agriculture, Rural Development, Municipality, and Police. Lectures were delivered on sustainability, cleanliness, environmental conservation, responsible citizenship, and the importance of community engagement in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat. They also discussed in detail the government’s welfare schemes, New Criminal Laws, and the need for collective efforts in building an aware and progressive society.

Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, commended CBC’s consistent efforts in spreading awareness in remote and border regions of Ladakh. Such outreach initiatives play a crucial role in empowering the youth with knowledge about governance, development, and nation-building, he added. He also urged the participants to avail benefits of various welfare schemes of the government.

Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, Shri Naseer Ahmad Rather highlighted that CBC is committed to carrying government communication to the grassroots level through participatory and interactive means. He informed that similar outreach programmes were organised in far-flung areas of Leh last week, and a follow-up event is scheduled at Government Degree College, Drass, to ensure extensive public engagement across the Ladakh region.

The event featured expert lectures, interactive presentations, quiz, painting, and debate competitions, followed by the felicitation of participants with mementoes and certificates. Empanelled CBC artists presented a colourful and informative skit depicting the themes of Viksit Bharat and Swachhata, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.

The programme concluded with a Swachhata pledge, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to cleanliness, lawfulness, environmental protection, and collective contribution toward national progress and sustainable development.
