
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of the Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme – Zone III of Greater Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC); Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; Chief Engineer, KPDCL; Superintending Engineer, UEED; along with officers from R&B, NBCC, and the Revenue Department.
During the meeting, officials from NBCC presented a detailed status report on the project. It was informed that Trunk Sewer Line is 99% complete, Lateral Sewer Line is 100% completed, 60 MLD STP is 98% complete, Household connections have been fully achieved and 60 MLD Infall Pump Station is 100% complete.
It was directed that trial runs of the completed system shall be started on 16th October 2025, which would cover 2 out of the 3 zones of the city being taken up under the Project targeting a coverage of over 13000 households in all.
The meeting also discussed key challenges affecting the project, including the relocation of shops, realignment of PHE lines, and shifting of 11KV and 33KV power lines.
Emphasizing timely completion, the Divisional Commissioner called for swift resolution of all outstanding issues, including those hindering household connectivity. He also instructed the concerned departments to explore suitable land for the relocation of shops, which is essential for linking Sector-I to the main sewerage network.
The Div Com directed all executing agencies to ensure that the entire segment of the project is commissioned as per the scheduled timeline.
